why 10 skills in witch craft? free healing (enervate the INSTANT mudhand) #8 passive is free mana from doing damage. No melee skills, you don't ned to ever be that close. You could trade boneyard for snare or somethign else. A dedicated PvP Trickster had this to say for when your skills are 55 and your GS is way up there. Good info:
Trickster for the last year - 13 Archery - 11 Shadowplay - 4 Witchcraft. 4,500 PvP kills. 6100 GS. From a PvP perspective only::
Here are the nice Witchcraft synergies for PvP:
*Enervate + Stalker's Mark = -50% and -40% healing reduction. Would be about [1-(1-50%)*(1-40%)] = -70% combined. Great for raids when that focus target keeps getting healed.
*Shadowsmite + Purge = Silence and Shackle
*Focal Concussion + Shadowsmite = Trip
(Note all of above are synergies with SHADOWPLAY, not Archery.....)
*Concussive Arrow + Purge = Silence and Shackle (no skill use by enemy)
*Banshee Wail = perfect way to turn the tables if you are jumped. Gives 4 sec to escape, or wait for the stun and combo with Charged Bolt for + 23% damage. Also great for dismounting enemies, I've broken up many mass enemy charges by running forward in Stealth and Banshee Wailing near the front of the charge.
*Purge is great to free yourself from enemy debuffs AND gives bonus +25% Magic Defense for a 3 minutes
*Focal Concussion = Stun on demand, uses magic so is not blocked, parried, evaded. Also removes an enemy buff. Stun also combo's with Charged Bolt for +23% damage.
PvP experience on other Witchcraft skills with Trickster:
*Bubble Trap : In large PvP someone always breaks the bubble. Also Bondbreaker (Battlerage, i.e. 70% of your enemies) will break out of it. And backdrop (another 50% of your enemies, including some without Battlerage) will negate the fall damage from it. In 2.9, you supposedly will be able to stun someone in a bubble using Charged Bolt. That might give some more opportunities to get fall damage.
*Lassitude: Sleep takes too long to take effect.
*Dahuta's Breath: You will probably be using Obs shortspear for the Feral Mark effect with Archery, so Dahuta's won't do much magic damage and is only good for pushing people away.
*Fiend's Knell: If you can afford 3 sec to cast it, it's decent. But if you buy enough Witchcraft skills to get the (9) passive to make it really good, the tradeoff is you are really gimping Shadowplay, where it might be more useful to have the Shadowplay 10 passive (11 skills total) and 20% faster CD on Backdrop, Stealth, Stalker's Mark, Toxic Shot, Overwhelm, Freerunner, Wallop, Throw dagger, etc.
*Earthen Grip: Snare breaks on damage, making it fairly useless in group/raid PvP, and doesn't allow you as a Trickster to put in any offensive moves while it is up. Bondbreaker breaks this too - so it's not useful as a gap maker against Battlerage (70% of your opponents)
*Courageous Action - Any skill above has more offensive use. Good for sleep immunity (couple that with fear immunity from Intensity).
*Play Dead - No PvP Use
*Mitigation - a life saver vs. melee burst/opener, but deep in the Witchcraft tree (see Fiend's Knell).
*Mana savings passive - I drink pots in PvP. Expensive, but a workable substitute. I'd rather spend the limited skill points on PvP damage/utility/movement

Trickster here - 15 months, 5K+ PvP kills : all open world Kyrios (home of high GS enemies), most kills in large groups, most kills while I was at mid 5K GS. No arena. Loved Trickster pre 2.9, even better post 2.9
What I love about Trickster is that of course you get the Archery (which although the weakest of the 3 DPS trees by far, is the most fun and very handy in large group fights for picking off injured enemies trying to hide in the group).
The Shadowplay/Witchcraft can be heavily emphasized either way for different playstyles. Shadowplay for a bit of melee/overwhelm when the fight degrades to "knife range", as well as all the utilities of backdrop, stealth, free-runner, throw dagger (AoE attack/cast/move slow). Witchcraft for CC's.
My favorite PvP combos and tricks. (besides the obvious new ones)
Stalker's Mark + Enervate. In 2.9 it's -35% and -50% heals received. I don't know if it adds to -85% reduction, or multiplies to -77.5% reduction. Either way, use it on that healer backed enemy initiator/tank in your midst that the raid can't focus down. This combo stops the "hit-point yo-yo" DEAD.
Concussive Arrow + Purge - apply before or after the above to a target. Now not only can they not be healed, they can't do ANYTHING. Shackle + Silence = no skills available.
Banshee Wail + whatever you want to do for 4s. Run, glide away, charge up Snipe/Concussive/Deadeye/Float. Buys time to apply the deadliest archery skills, or more Witchcraft CC.
Stealth + Banshee Wail + Archery dmg. Take an enemy off his mount/vehicle and go to town on either/both. Or get into the backline of an enemy raid and mess their plans up for the duration of the Wail (no one ever suspects an archer going back there to disrupt). Apply one of the first two combos to a healer or other focused backline target.
Intensity + Freerunner + Self Purge (when needed) - Immune to Fear, Poison and take the enemy Stalker's Mark off you while you lay one on him.
PVE Combos:
Snare (optional) + Feral Mark (from spear or Deadeye/Float) + Snipe (spread AoE Feral Aura) + Concussive Arrow + Dahuta's Breath (optional w/magic weapon) + Banshee Wail (as needed) - Great for library room farming. I can get the Snipe to land for 20K+ and the Concussive to land for 30K+ on up to 10 mobs at once w/o Float. Follow up with Throw Dagger to slow 5 of them, and keep Banshee Wail ready if needed to keep the mobs off you (usually they can't touch you as you circle kite)
